Organic Papua New Guinea is harvested from the lush, fertile highlands of the Bena Bena Valley along the country's legendary Highlands Highway, and it delivers a bold, satisfying cup that stands apart. It is smooth and notably sweet, with a medium body and creamy mouthfeel, opening on candied walnut, chocolate, and spice and ending dark, fruity, and remarkably clean.Coffee flourished here after the introduction of the prized Jamaican Typica variety, often called Blue Mountain. Today the organic beans come from smallholder plots known locally as gardens, which also grow food crops for the community. Unlike many wet-hulled Indo-Pacific coffees, this one is fully wet-processed, the key to its prominent natural sweetness and exceptionally clean cup, free of the heavy, earthy, or vegetal notes common to the region.
